If you’re wondering where John Frusciante went, you can rest that little mind of yours. The now former guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers returns with a new album, a new sound, and what’s more, a new band. And while his solo work sadly strays under the radar (Does anyone remember last year’s The Empyrean? Pretty decent stuff.), this project should turn some heads.
Frusciante calls the band Swahili Blonde and already he plans to release its debut this summer. How’s that for moving on? As for who’s in the band, so far it’s just Frusciante and percussionist Nicole Turley (of Weave!). However, expect some holier than thou guest appearances, including John Taylor (of Duran Duran), Alina Meyer (of The Like), and her father, Devo’s own Alan Meyer.
